Scholarship Criteria
Criteria and eligibility (LGSSF applicants)
1. Applicant must attend a high school in Illinois
2. Applicant must be a graduating high school senior in the year of the award.
3. Applicant must have at least a 2.0 grade point average (or a “C” average).
4. Applicant must have shown improvements in their academics and desires to attend college.
5. All applicants must submit a 2 letters of recommendation.
6. All applicants must submit a 200 word essay stating why they should be selected.
7. Applicants may not be related to any Board of Directors.
Criteria and eligibility (returning recipients)
1. Applicant must be a recipient of the Lafayette Gatling, Sr. Scholarship Fund.
2. Applicant must be currently enrolled in a trade program, two-year or four-year educational institution,
3. Applicant must have at least a 2.0 grade point average (or a “C” average).
